DIY and Guitars…

Saturday Evening, 6:53pm…

So anyway, I was in a bad mood last week, but I’m not apologising, OK! Good. It’s not even 7pm and we’ve already had our Saturday night curry, which was the first thing I’d eaten all day! Not intentionally I should add! Suffice to say I’m crippled now! It’s been another busy 60 hour week, so today has been mostly about doing very little. This morning’s run will now become tomorrow morning’s run. We did some gardening this afternoon, I did some plumbing and electrics in the house this morning, and we went and bought copious amounts of kindling, firewood and coal, reading for the impending installation of a new wood burner this coming Thursday, which we are all far too excited about!

DIY season is well and truly in full swing as well. I quite like DIY, it’s almost cathartic to change and renew things. Starting jobs around the house is a pain in the ass, but once sufficient momentum has been gathered, it’s actually quite enjoyable! We’re about to start decorating the kitchen now the bathroom has been finished. We have a rule in this house that only one room at time is ever in turmoil, i.e. finish a room before you start the next one, at least there can then be some logic applied to the process!

On to guitars. The trusty Spanish Acoustic is with Sam for repairs and a set up. She’s been in my possession for about 20 years, and is a little tired! I relaxed the tuning pegs last year, but I think a fret dress and new bridge piece may be in order as well! It’s the guitar I do a lot of my writing and composing on as well, so I’m kind of missing her at the moment!

Vanessa Knight has been back in contact as well! She’s been working on some vocals for my reworking of ‘In My Life‘ that I sent to her a few weeks ago, listen to it here if I haven’t bored you with it enough already! Hopefully we’ll be working together on this and more songs soon! Stay Tuned!

That’s pretty much it for this week, it’s half term now, so there’s a decidedly more relaxed atmosphere in our house. Have a good one y’all. 9 weeks and counting until the London Marathon!
